Welcome to The Avenue Educational resource for key stage 4 and 5

The Avenue is an ambitious project. It is the largest single project in the National Coalfields Programme with a budget of £172.3 million to clean up the site of the former Avenue Coking Plant. It is a great area for students of History, Science, Construction, Environmental and Land-based studies to explore.

Teachers in local schools are keen to use material about the site and we hope schools further afield will find this education resource stimulating and inspiring.
